“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” ~ Revelation 1:8
Perhaps you have heard the expression “spill the beans” meaning: give us the essence or “bottom line” of the story at the beginning so we don’t have to wait till the end to receive it. In this verse, that is what Jesus has done! Jesus plainly and frankly lays out the matter: he is everything to all things – including us. There is no avoiding him or ignoring him. He created all things, including us. He has all authority and right over everything, including us. There is no other purpose or reason for living, except to fulfill his will. We had better listen closely and take heed to his warnings.
But are we ready now to receive this? You see, too many mistaken their conceptual comprehension capabilities for being able to fully understand the depth, width and height. Just because you can conceptualize what is written does not mean you really understand it! The things of God no man can receive except a special favor of mercy and grace from God himself.
“I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.” (Ecclesiastes 3:10-12)
Everything that happens, God has already determined. He has purposed that those who disobey his counsel will never be satisfied and will be punished if they continue that way. He has also purposed that those that serve him will suffer at the hands of the disobedient, but will enjoy an eternity of happiness with God. He allows us to make a choice as to where we end up in his purpose.
“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.” (Isaiah 46:9-11)
As has already been stated in an earlier blog entry: God purposed from the beginning that all things would be created by His Son, Jesus Christ, and that all things would be created for Him. He has also determined that there is no other way for us to be made complete and holy before God except through his Son. Since before the world began, during the time of the Old Testament, and up to today: God’s purpose has never changed.
“For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.” (Hebrews 7:1-4)
Jesus Christ is our great high priest, our only hope who has offered the perfect and only sacrifice for our sins that God the Father would accept. Jesus makes us “new creatures” by the power of his sacrifice. There is no excuse for anything but a whole hearted faithful service to the Savior. And so, the ultimate revelation is of this truth concerning Jesus Christ. Not so that you and I could conceptualize it, but so that we could receive him! May God have mercy on us to see the difference!
But the truth of the matter: most people are “marked” with the “mark of the beast” in their heart and mind so that they reason and think of Jesus Christ and his Kingdom in a carnal, fleshly manner; according to the way they think and act. This is why we need the full “Revelation of Jesus Christ” message to be preached and understood. Else we will never over come the social, religious mindedness of being a so-called “Christian”.
“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelations 21:5-8 )
Are we ready to receive him? Can we receive him as he is? We must, because he has determined that those who will be accepted of him, must receive him as he really is: King of kings, Lord of lords, the beginning and the end. All things to us and his church, ans all things by him and for him.
- “And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.” (Revelations 22:10-15)
