If you want to compare the true weight of something, put it in an old fashioned balance-scale and place what you want to compare it to on the other side of the balance. You’ll quickly find out if they are equal or if one is weightier than the other.
“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” (Revelation 13:18)
It takes wisdom to compare the number of the beast to the number of a man, but with an accurate balance you can. The balance that measures and weighs everything fairly and accurately is the Word of God under the direction of the Holy Spirit.
“A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.” (Proverbs 11:1)
With the divine nature of the Holy Spirit within, a true minister of the Gospel will not show favoritism in their teaching and administration of the scriptures.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)
But man without the holy divine nature within will live selfishly and in a sinful beast like way. Fallen mankind must think and act like a beast for selfish purposes because his purpose for living is tied to his existence on earth, and not to an eternal hope in heaven. Therefore he will bend and weigh out the scriptures for his own advantage.
“But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.” (Jude 10-11)
“These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.” (Jude 16)
So it is even for this reason the Revelation message places judgment on this beast-like measure of 666, because the intention of Revelation is to number (sum up, measure, or weigh) the kingdom of the beast, and destroy it.
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.” (Romans 1:18)
Babylon of Revelation represents those false Christian organizations that protect the beast-like nature within people from the pure judgements of God’s Word. This is why the Revelation message judges Babylon so that those who really want true holiness and the divine nature can get free from the beast.
Do you see this yet? If not, let’s take time to study more about the ancient kingdom of Babylon. The book of Revelation uses these symbolic types from the rest of the Bible so that we can study the Word of God to get understanding.
The Kingdom of ancient Babylon destroyed Jerusalem and carried God’s people away into captivity. The King of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, thought very highly of himself; so much so that God humbled him to live with the mentality of a beast for a number of years. God did this to him so that he might understand that God is actually the true King of kings.
“The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws. And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?” (Daniel 4:33-35)
For the scriptures plainly teach us that man is nothing more than a beast before God, and especially without God’s Holy Spirit within:
“I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.” (Ecclesiastes 3:18)
But the next King of Babylon did not take heed to what happened to his father before him. This King went even further to dishonor God by taking the holy vessels that were used in the Temple in Jerusalem, and using them in his ungodly worship of his idols. Consequently there came a hand from God that wrote words on the wall of the King’s palace.
Daniel revealing the meaning of the handwriting on the wall.
“In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. Then the king’s countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.” (Daniel 5:5-6)
Finally the King called for Daniel the prophet to interpret the handwriting on the wall:
“And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.” (Daniel 5:25-28)
For the same reason as back then, God in Revelation is also numbering the kingdom of the beast as 666 where man is equated to a beast. When man is placed in the balance to be compared to a beast, he comes up “wanting” or being shown that he falls very short of God’s intended divine image and holiness. And then finally, God divides and destroys the Kingdom of Babylon that protects these beast kings.
In the scriptures he number seven represents “completeness” – a finished work, or “it is done.” The number six come up short of seven, thereby representing “incomplete” or a work that has not been done yet in the heart and soul. Without God we are incomplete. 666 emphasizes this fact to show that the beast like condition of man is completely incomplete!
If you are still living with a beast like nature, God has also numbered your kingdom and finished it. That is why later on in Revelation the 16th chapter, that God has his minister/angels pour out the vial of wrath judgement message. They pour it out upon the corruption of spiritual Babylon, the spirit of disobedience that now rules and works within what is identified as “Christianity” today. Including both Catholic and compromising Protestant church kingdoms of our day. Spiritually God is finishing his judgement, and dividing and destroying these evil churches that protect the continuance of the beast like nature in mankind.
“And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath” (Revelation 16:17-19)
The reason this final seventh vial of wrath judgement was poured out into the air, is because it is poured out on the spirit of disobedience of religious man, who still has the sinful beast like nature. God wants us to get free from this spirit of the fleshly, carnal, beast-like nature. So we don’t have to be children that are judged by God’s wrath any longer!
“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.” (Ephesians 2:1-3)
God wants you to fully repent of your sins and to receive the holiness of his Holy Spirit into your hearts. So that being a child of disobedience will be a thing of the past, that is gone forever!
“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” (Revelation 13:18)
But be warned! The scripture above states “Let him that hath understanding.” Or let that one that is wise to understand and obey the scriptures, count and be able to weigh the number of the beast that equals a man. Why? Because there is a strong human beast-like tendency to not weigh ourselves against the Word of God, but rather to compare ourselves amongst ourselves. People judge how they are doing spiritually by comparing themselves to other people who claim to be Christian. This is not wise because they are again comparing man with beasts, and thinking that by that comparison they are OK.
“For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.” (2 Corinthians 10:12)
Don’t make yourself of that number 666 that measure themselves by themselves, and compare themselves among themselves. It shows you don’t have understanding, and you are not wise. It is not wisdom to measure your spirituality to a man with a beast like nature. Measure yourself by the fulness of the Word of God: Jesus Christ!
“Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.” (Ephesians 4:13-14)
Note: this diagram below shows where this seventh trumpet message is within the full Revelation message. The mark of the beast spirit is revealed as part of the 7th trumpet message. To better understand a high level view of Revelation, you can also see the “Roadmap of Revelation.”
