“And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.” ~ Revelation 15:3

The song of Moses was a song of deliverance which the children of Israel sang when they were delivered from Pharaoh’s army at the Red Sea. (See Exodus chapter 15)

What is the song of the Lamb?

The song of the Lamb is the song of deliverance from sin, and it is sung numerous times right in the book of Revelation:

• “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation” ~ Revelation 5:9
• “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb…
  …These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” ~ Revelation 7:9-14
• “And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.” ~ Revelation 14:3-5
• “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” ~ Revelation 19:6-8

This is the song from the heart of true love and faithfulness to the Lamb. Notice the context above that every time it is sung, it is not just one, but many with a pure heart in harmony together. Because you cannot sing this song if the hearts that you are gathered together with are not true and faithful.

“By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying , Sing us one of the songs of Zion. How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a strange land? If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning . If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.” ~ Psalm 137:1-6

Today the true church is spiritual Jerusalem and Mount Zion. The gathering of the holy people who are true and faithful to the Lord. Otherwise the worship is just a show because there is no deliverance from sin in the soul! You must be delivered from the power of sin in your own life to be able to sing the song of deliverance.

Finally, the last part of Revelation 15:3 states:

“Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.”

Is God sovereign in everything that happens?

There is an acknowledgement of the sovereignty of God; that in everything he does and allows, he has all power and authority. That even in what a saint suffers, God has a perfect plan and purpose! So to the saints he is titled: “King of saints”.

But later in Revelation 19:16 he will be titled “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” But this happens once all other authority and dominions have been exposed to the saints as being under the sovereign will of God.

“For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.” ~ 1 Corinthians 15:25-28

So next in Revelation 15 the saints state:

“Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.” ~ Revelation 15:4

So in agreement with 1 Corinthians 15:25-28 above, the true saints are informing us that as God’s judgments are revealed: that people from all nations will come to worship before the Lord. And in the final judgement, every knee will bow before him.

This revelation to the saints is necessary first, to enable them to pour out the final judgments upon spiritual Babylon. So in the next scriptures (spoken of in the next post) we will see the seven plague angels preparing themselves to pour out the judgement!
