“And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.” ~ Revelation 5:3-4

As stated earlier, when God seals something, no one will ever understand it unless God provides a way for it to become unsealed.

“For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed” ~ Isaiah 29:10-11

If we really want to see what Jesus has to reveal to us, it must become an earnest burden to us, like it was for the Apostle John. He said “I wept much!” Being light and casual about knowing God and serving Him will get you know where. He wants to know that your whole heart is wanting to know and to understand; and to ultimately obey!

  • “Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted.” ~ Matthew 5:4
  • “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” ~ Matthew 5:6

The ability to see and understand is dependent upon a critical change in our spiritual state. Only Jesus can make this critical change because of the personal sacrifice he gave for us.

Jesus made this fact as plain as could ever be stated when Nicodemus, one of the most diligent, religious and educated men of that time, approached Jesus to try to understand.

"Есүс түүнд хариулж, "Үнэнээр, үнэнээр би чамд хэлье, хэрэв хүн дахин төрөхгүй бол тэр Бурханы хаанчлалыг харж чадахгүй." ~ Иохан 3:3

This statement truly troubled Nicodemus, but Jesus made it even clearer that he needed a new spiritual birth; one in which Nicodemus would become truly a totally new man where the old carnal life of sin would be destroyed.

  • “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17
  • “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” ~ Romans 6:6
  • “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him” ~ Colossians 3:9-10

By being redeemed from our old man of sin, we are “renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him” (see scripture above.) This is why we then can have Jesus revealed to us, because we have the same spiritual image as Christ, a pure and holy one that loves God supreme. This is what it takes to “see the kingdom” and comprehend the depth of the riches of Christ!

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” ~ Ephesians 1:17-23

But if people will not humble themselves and repent, they will never see, or understand, and they will be spiritually lost!

“Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.” (see Matthew 13:14-15 & Acts 28:26-27)

Have you ever wept with such a great burden concerning your sin that it caused you to implore God for forgiveness and deliverance? If not, you are still living with sin in your life. And the seals are still on the book, for you!
