“Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;” (Revelations 1:19)

Jesus put his right hand on John to perform the work of writing what he would see and hear, and to deliver it to the church: the revelation of Jesus Christ himself! – and it is still being delivered to the church today. The writer of Psalms 45 also had a portion of Jesus revealed to him, even way back in the Old Testament times:

“My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever. Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty. And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things. Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; whereby the people fall under thee. Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.” (Psalms 45:1-7)

The book of Revelations was originally written by John around AD 90 and Jesus said that some of what John would see would be spiritual conditions that actually were in existence at that time; others that would be after. Since AD 90 almost all of those things that would be “hereafter” have already happened, and spiritually still exist today. Consequently, the Revelation message needs to be proclaimed today more than ever to reveal a multitude of spiritual conditions that have affected people throughout history, and still very much today.

The question is “how much of the Revelation message have you been able to see and receive?” (See page: “Understanding Revelations“) John was a humble and obedient servant that was still worshiping and obeying Jesus. He received all the Revelation. Can we do the same? Yes, if we will take the humble and obedient route that John took, and worship Jesus.
