“And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.” – Revelation 15:2
What is the sea of glass in Revelation?
“Sea of glass mingled with fire” is referring to the Word of God preached by a Holy Ghost anointed preacher.
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” ~ James 1:22-24
Who are the people standing on the sea of glass mingled with fire?
So these standing on the sea of glass mingled with fire, want to see themselves spiritually as they really are: so if there is anything contrary, they can see it and correct it. And they are staying on that sea of glass so that they keep living according to will of God as shown through the scriptures. They are “doers of the word” and not hearers only.
“Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord ; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?” ~ Jeremiah 23:29
The Holy Ghost anointed preaching of the pure gospel will burn up all spiritual dross, so that only the pure gold of faithful obedience will be shown in the true believer. And this faithful gold testimony especially shines when it is placed into the middle of a fiery trial. Which is exactly what will happen if you proclaim that you have “gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name.”
If you let people know that you are saved completely from sin, and you no longer do it: they often become offended. Then if you tell them that a church is false because it teaches you can still sin and be saved: you will find they really get offended. Why? Because they have not “gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name.” They still worship the corrupted church forms of Catholicism and divided Protestant sects.
You can read in more detail here concerning “the beast, and his image, his mark, and the number of his name.” This list of posts exposes the fleshly beast nature of people who are marked by the false teachings and hypocrisy of fallen churches.
But in spite of the fiery trials, the faithfulness of those living holy just continues to get stronger!
“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ” ~ 1 Peter 1:7
Even in the midst of fiery trials, the faithful ones continue to stand on the Word. They are spiritually refined by the fire of both the Word and the trial: for this is the plan of God for producing a true and faithful church. As I stated in the prior post “Seven Angels with the Seven Last Plagues of God’s Wrath” Revelation chapter 15 shows the preparation necessary for a true ministry to preach a faithful and clear judgement message against hypocrisy. This sea of glass mingled with fire is a critical part of this preparation.
“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” ~ 1 Corinthians 3:11-15
Are you willing to stand on the sea of glass mingled with fire? Or will you jump off once it begins to get hot? Faithfulness or hypocrisy – which will be your choice?
The true and faithful are shown holding “the harps of God” because harps are used while worshiping from the heart. Only a faithful and obedient saint can worship in Spirit and in truth: from a pure heart.
Have you “gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name?”
