Nothing is Hid From the Eyes as a "Flame of Fire"

“His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;” (Revelations 1:14)

“The hoary (white or gray) head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.” (Proverbs 16:31) The white hair of Jesus here reflects the great honor that he deserves because of his perfect righteousness.

Jesus also is described in scripture as the lamb without blemish, white as wool, the perfect sacrifice. Jesus is the one that God the Father ordained before the foundation of the world to be the only sacrifice that would be accepted for the forgiveness of sins. Jesus’ sacrifice not only forgives and saves, but also has the power to change the very depths of the heart and soul to cause people to be able to live holy.

“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.” (1 Peter 1:15-21)

“… and his eyes were as a flame of fire.”

Jesus has eyes that see through everything. Nothing is hid from him! “But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.” (John 2:24-25)

These eyes as a flame of fire, by the Spirit of God and Word of God, burn through everything to see to the depth of the intents of the heart of man: “…the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” Eph 6:17

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” (Hebrews 4:12-13)

“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” (Proverbs 15:3)

“And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.” (Hebrews 1:7)
