I was saved many years ago because of Jesus being revealed to my soul during a message brought from the book of Revelation. Since then, because of many trials, difficulties and tribulations along the way, Jesus has revealed himself to me in a greater way more and more. Without this revelation of Jesus Christ, I would have fallen and lost out. The revelation of Jesus Christ is not only critical to our salvation, but also to our continued keeping of our soul from sin and total discouragement.

Truly this is how the Apostle John received the Revelation message. He was suffering persecution again in the final years of his life. And consequently, Jesus revealed himself to John once again and in a greater way, for his benefit and encouragement, and for ours.

“I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches…” ~ Revelation 1:9-11

In a “nutshell” the Revelation message is to help the church to get where we need to be. In the beginning Jesus tells the seven churches “this is where you are at.” Jesus knows exactly where we are spiritually, there is nothing hid from him. If you read the end of the book it shows the church where she needs to be: as a holy, pure, and faithful bride of Christ, submitted completely to her husband and honoring him as “King of kings and Lord of lords.” Everything in between the beginning and the end of the book is revealed to us, the church, to get us to transition to where we need to be!

Are we willing to do what we need to do to get where we need to be?
